Three out of every four camper vans sold in Europe stands on Fiat Ducato underpinnings, making the Ducato the camper king of European roadways. Now Fiat aims to make it equally at home on the swaths and ribbons of off-road that stretch through the Alps, Dolomites and beyond. The Fiat Ducato 4×4 on show now at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon gives van lifers better all-weather, all-terrain footing for exploring farther, year-round. It’s a van so tough, they got Chuck Norris to advertise it.

Danish consumer tech marque Bang & Olufsen is well known for its eye-popping designs, high-end sound and visuals, and the rather large price tags that accompany most of its products. Yesterday, the company unveiled a stunning TV in partnership with LG. And today it’s the turn of B&O’s first truly wireless earphones to make a bid for freedom.

We were quite taken with Homegrown Trailers’ debut model last year and the firm has just unveiled a larger take on its wooden trailer that could be a good fit for people who want to go camping with the whole family, full-time RV-dwellers, or those looking for additional guest quarters for their home. A team of scientists at MIT has developed an autonomous robot that uses a suite of sensors and an advanced machine learning technique to navigate crowded areas while adhering to (human) social norms. The wheeled automaton could be another step towards fully automated delivery bots, or even smart personal mobility devices capable of navigating a busy street.

Guessing SPAM ^^^^ but funny to see a blast from the past!
So just an update I will be there from Sept. 12-17th
From what I’ve gathered, there doesn’t seem to be a ton of events going on (they were mostly during Design Week in June)
But every second Thursday there’s an IDSF (Industrial Designers of San Francisco) happy hour.
I don’t think they’ve updated the details like time/location yet.
There’s also Autodesk’s Design Night and their gallery I heard it’s open all year.
Any other ID related events going on I’m missing?
Hot. Get rid of even more creases at the front and will be one elegant ride.
Kia Stinger? Seriously? It’s a Mondeo from 2007..
Super excited to finally share CRAFT, Logitech’s new flagship keyboard.
I’ve been the ID for this one from start to finish so it’s pretty awesome to see it being announced.
It’s the first time that we are doing a metal part this big on any of our core products so it’s been a pretty wild journey for us with many trips to suppliers and lots of discussions to convince the business to invest in design.
We made a pretty sweet video with Pawel Nolbert, an awesome visual artist.
